EMU BOOK (Chapter 1 pg. 11-32) Did you know the average person has about 6,200 thoughts per day? Let's exaggerate this number for a minute. That's 43,400 per week, 173,600 per month, and 2,083,200 per year. That would make us millionaires if that was currency. But instead, we have migraines, anxiety, stress, depression, and all the other noisy anguishes that bombard our minds. We are in a constant battle because our thoughts are overprocessed, left in turmoil, and imbalanced. We need God's Spirit to help our Ego bring balance to our lives. Galatians 5:17: "For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want." The mind is our battleground, and the Id, ego, and superego are in a constant warzone trying to do what the flesh wants and what the Spirit of God wants. Where is the sanity behind our noisy thoughts. Philippians 4:8 tells us how to keep the noise away. Through this class we are bringing self-awareness, education, and emotional regulation to our interpersonal relationships using scripture, research, and the personal experiences of my book.
