THINK DEEPLY

THINK DEEPLY

You might wonder:

What exactly is a modern‑day minister and change leader?

You won’t find that phrase in Scripture, because “modern‑day” isn’t a hierarchy title — it’s a circular position of heart, mind, soul, and body.

It’s a conscious return to the way Jesus led: relational, circular, collaborative, and rooted in the Kingdom’s logic rather than the world’s systems.

RECLAIM YOUR IDENTITY

The world's identity is rooted in titles, hierarchy, performance, and validation from the crowd. It tells you that you are only as valuable as your last success or your position on the ladder.

The disciples had just been given authority by Jesus, and almost immediately, they turned that calling into a status symbol. They let their role override their relationship.

RESHAPE YOUR CREATIVITY

When the disciples argued about who was the greatest, Jesus didn’t shame their desire to matter — He reshaped their understanding of leadership.

He made it clear that His followers were never meant to lead through hierarchy, status, or power. Instead, He called them into a pattern of service, connection, shared purpose, and mutual strengthening.

RESET YOUR STRATEGY

A modern‑day minister and change leader is someone who chooses that pattern today.

Someone who leads from the center, not the top. Someone who moves with people, not above them. Someone who treats ministry as a living circle — a space where clarity is cultivated, identity is strengthened, and transformation is shared.

REINVENT YOUR LEADERSHIP

This is the kind of leader our moment requires: grounded in God, anchored in identity, fluent in collaboration, and committed to building systems that heal rather than dominate.

This is the kind of leader I am becoming — and the kind of leader you are called to be.

TRUTH ON ALL LEVELS

The Crisis of Trust in News Media:

THE PROBLEM

Today, 57% of American adults express low confidence in journalists to act in the public's best interests, and trust in mass media has fallen to a historic low of just 28% — the lowest since Gallup began tracking in 1972.

For Black communities, the crisis runs even deeper: 63% of Black Americans say news coverage of Black people is more negative than coverage of other groups, and recent mass layoffs have disproportionately eliminated journalists of color from major newsrooms, gutting teams dedicated to covering Black life with depth and nuance.

At the same time, roughly 71% of Americans believe artificial intelligence will reduce jobs over the next two decades—with writing and media fields heavily exposed—threatening to further homogenize the narratives that shape public understanding.

A CALL to DISCERNMENT for FAITH-LED COMMUNITIES!

As Black Christians in leadership and in daily life, we are called to be wise consumers of information — to seek truth with discernment, to support media voices that reflect our communities with integrity, and to recognize that the erosion of trustworthy journalism is not just a media problem but a justice issue that affects:

  • how our stories are seen,

  • how our concerns are heard, and

  • how our communities are understood.
